Aurora

Replacing underground cable

In 2023, Alectra has major capital projects planned for Aurora, improving reliability for 25,880 customers including: 

  • $5.1M to rehabilitate underground cables. 
  • $300,000 to replace old infrastructure including pole, transformer, switchgear renewal and new automation.
Barrie

Renewing infrastructure

In 2023, Alectra plans to invest in significant capital renewal projects in Barrie impacting 28,753 customers including: 

  • $3.9M to renew old infrastructure including pole transformers, switchgear, vault cover renewal and net new automation. 
  • $1.7M to rehabilitate underground cables on Sunnidale and Anne. 
  • $1.3M to replace and upgrade stations.
Brampton

Renewing poles and underground cable

In 2023, Alectra plans to continue to invest in capital renewal projects across Brampton impacting 47,000 customers, including: 

  • $9.2M to renew infrastructure including switchgear equipment, poles, and transformers in Central North Brampton. 
  • $2.3M to renew old infrastructure on Hansen Road. 
  • $4.3M to rehabilitate underground cable at Bovaird-Dixie-Queen-Hwy 410 Brampton, Kennedy-Wanless-Main, Bovaird-Dixie-Queen-Hwy 410. 
  • $1.7M to construct new feeder lines on Egress Salvation Road to Wanless Drive, to accommodate growth and development. 
  • $1.15M to upgrade net new automated devices for faster restoration in Central North Brampton.
Guelph

Renewing infrastructure

In 2023, Alectra plans to continue to deliver work focused on asset renewal and customer-driven work impacting 3,000 customers in Guelph by investing: 

  • $1.5M to replace underground cables in the Southwest area of Guelph. 
  • $2.7M to renew overhead poles in the Southwest area of Guelph.
Hamilton

Renewing infrastructure

In 2023, Alectra plans to invest in significant capital renewal projects impacting 31,000 customers in Hamilton, including: 

  • $5.4M to renew old infrastructure in the Hamilton Downtown core (Central MS). 
  • $7.3M to renew old infrastructure including pole transformers, and switchgear vault cover renewal in Hamilton 
  • $5.7M to rehabilitate underground via cable injection and replacement at Millen – Barton – Fruitland. 
  • $1.8M to construct new automated devices in Hamilton. 
  • $1.3M to replace and upgrade stations within Hamilton. 
  • $974,547 to construct new build at Hamilton South Mountain Feeders capacity relief.
Markham

Replacing underground cable

In 2023, Alectra plans to invest in significant capital renewal projects impacting 52,562 customers in Markham, including: 

  • $12.1M to rehabilitate underground cable at Cairns Drive, Steeles - McCowan - 14th, - 14th - Old Kennedy - Steeles - Warden, - 16th - Warden - Hwy 7 - Woodbine, - 14th - McCowan - Steeles - Old Kennedy, - Cochrane Dr (North) - Scolberg (South), - Raymerville Dr. 
  • $1.5M to renew overhead assets including pole remediation. 
  • $955,333 to replace and upgrade stations within Markham. 
  • $191,684 to construct new automated devices.
Mississauga

Renewing infrastructure and replacing underground cable

In 2023, Alectra plans to deliver significant capital renewal projects impacting 30,000 customers in Mississauga by investing: 

  • $12.2M to rehabilitate underground cable on Glen Erin & Aquitaine, Millcreek Drive & Erin Mills Parkway, Eglinton Ave West & Miss Road, Miss. Valley & Bloor, Fieldgate and Ponytrail Drive, Burnhamthorpe & Miss. Road, Main Feeder able on Cantay Road, Hemus Square, Dixie Road and Winding Trail, and Sir Johns Homestead. 
  • $8.5M to renew old infrastructure including poles, switchgear equipment, and transformers in Central South Mississauga. 
  • $1.4 M to install new automated devices for faster restoration in Central South Mississauga.
Richmond Hill

Replacing underground cable and renewing infrastructure

In 2023, Alectra plans to continue to invest in significant capital renewal projects impacting 32,564 customers in Richmond Hill, including: 

  • $1.5M to rehabilitate underground cables in Kersey Cr. Area. 
  • $1.4M to renew old infrastructure including poles, transformers, switchgear renewal and new automation.
St. Catharines

Replacing underground cable and renewing infrastructure

In 2023, Alectra plans to continue to invest in significant capital renewal projects impacting 10,000 customers in St. Catharines, including: 

  • $2.3M to rehabilitate underground assets including cable remediation on Lake Street – Linwell Road, Geneva Street and Scott Street. 
  • $2.3M to rehabilitate overhead assets including pole remediation, transformer replacements, and switchgear replacements. 
  • $0.9M to install new automated devices for faster restoration in St. Catharines 
  • $100,000 to construct new lines accommodating growth at Carlton TS to Linwell Road/Lake St.
Vaughan

Replacing underground cable and renewing infrastructure

In 2023, Alectra plans to continue to invest in significant capital renewal projects improving reliability for 32,525 customers in Vaughan, including: 

  • $11.7M to rehabilitate underground cable via cable injection on Langstaff - Weston - Rutherford - Jane, Vaughan - Hwy 7 - Keele - Langstaff - Jane, Vaughan Left Behind Cable - Major Mackenzie - Keele - Rutherford - Jane- Jacob Keffer Parkway area of Vaughan - Aviva Park,– Ashbridge Circle area. 
  • $10.0M to renew old infrastructure including poles, transformers, switchgear renewal and new automation. 
  • $1.2M in station upgrades 
  • $2.0M to construct new lines to accommodate growth. 
  • $1.2M to construct net new automated devices for faster restoration and to construct new communications equipment.
